In this illustrative cookbook, it is featuring local recipes from this town using their style of telling, not only using illustrations but also animation to enrich and make the book more practical to the readers. The cookbook serves as a tribute to those who have upheld these culinary traditions, providing readers with a flavorful journey that enhances their connection to the town’s and people’s essence.
The design uses minimalistic illustration style with components from the village itself. The backgrounds in all these illustrations comes from the exact location of where I learnt the recipes, so the places vary not to where they hang out or live but to where I learnt from them. For example the first shows Ayşe's kitchen whereas the second shows Tenzile on a street.
The project includes animations to each recipe page. The animations shows parts of how to prepare the food using sel animation. Each design has its own color which continues in animations too.
At the last night of our two weeks of workshop, we held a presentation night where we all presented our projects to both the local people and a great number of well-known designers. For this purpose, I have created an invitation poster seen below.
